NPA launches support packages on Drug Tariff

15th July 2013

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) has introduced a new package of support measures to help its members better understand the details of the Drug Tariff.

Incorporating country-specific information for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England, the guides will assist pharmacies in ensuring they are correctly reimbursed for the medicines they dispense and services they provide.

It includes free e-learning training modules for all UK countries – with sections on endorsing prescriptions, prescription exemption, dental and non-medical prescribing and professional fees – as well as a series of factsheets and leaflets that cover various aspects of the tariff.

Leyla Hannbeck, head of pharmacy at the NPA, said: "We receive many enquiries from our members about the Drug Tariff, so we're delighted to provide them with country-specific support and training."

This comes after the NPA relaunched its website earlier this month to make it easier for pharmacy staff to access the range of professional resources and learning tools it offers.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801612584-ADNFCR
