Octopus Comms appoints tech specialist to management team

Octopus Comms has announced the appointment of Steve Douthwaite, formerly of 3 Monkeys, as the newest member of its senior management team.

Mr Douthwaite returns to the Octopus Group having worked at sister agency Rocket Comms for a number of years earlier in his career, reports Gorkana.

During his two years with 3 Monkeys, he was responsible for overseeing Microsoft's consumer and marketing communications across the UK, playing a key role in the recent launch of the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 operating systems.

He has more than 11 years of experience in the PR sector, having worked with brands such as T-Mobile, CNET and Dell.

Jon Lonsdale, Octopus Comms' managing director, said: "We're really pleased to have Steve on board from January; he's got award-winning campaign experience, knows our culture inside out and also our ambitions for growing our technology practice.”

Earlier this year, the company won a new brief with IT management software and solutions company CA Technologies after winning a competitive pitching process.
