Octopus Group wins Orange corporate comms brief
Octopus Group has won a six-figure international corporate comms account from telecoms company Orange.
The agency is taking over the brief from Edelman – which has held the contract for the last decade – following a competitive five-way pitch, with Orange wishing to bring fresh new ideas to its strategy, reports PRWeek.
Octopus will be tasked with driving Orange's wider activities and promoting its innovation credentials as it seeks to expand into new areas such as mobile payment and cloud services.
Covering media, industry and analyst relations plus stakeholder engagement and reputation management, the work will be led by Octopus' London office and associate director Steve Douthwaite.
Orange's director of external comms Vanessa Clarke said: "Our group portfolio is hugely diverse and we are constantly expanding the business into new areas. We are delighted to be working with Octopus to highlight the innovation that Orange is delivering."
The agency has worked with some of the world's biggest tech brands in the past, including SAP and PlayStation.
