Olympus launches FluoView FVMPE-RS multiphoton microscope

19th September 2013

Olympus has announced the launch of a new dedicated multiphoton microscope system that has been optimised for high-speed and precise performance.

The FluoView FVMPE-RS microscope has been designed for electrophysiology and optogenetics studies, as well as calcium and in vivo imaging, peristalsis and blood flow studies, mosaic imaging, stem cell research, connectomics and functional brain imaging.

It captures 438 frames per second at 512×32 resolution, the fastest rate of any commercially available device, and features precision timing to allow for microsecond repeatability and control of multiple imaging and stimulation protocols.

Other benefits of the system include its high sensitivity, multichannel analogue box, ease of use and optimal performance when imaging live cells and tissues.

The manufacturer said the device "enables high-precision, ultra-fast scanning and stimulation, allowing researchers to see deep within specimens, take measurements at the highest speeds and capture images even when working under the most demanding conditions".

Later this month, Olympus will be demonstrating its latest live cell imaging technologies at the European Molecular Biology Organisation meeting in Amsterdam.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801639588-ADNFCR
