PerkinElmer adds features to Operetta High Content Imaging System

25th July 2013

PerkinElmer has enhanced its Operetta High Content Imaging System with new live cell capabilities.

Scientists will now be able to use the device to analyse the dynamic behaviour of cells using advanced live cell high-content imaging, making it easier to accurately observe individual cell behaviour over time.

This will give them a better understanding of dynamic processes in order to generate more accurate prediction models of processes such as the migration of cancer cells during metastasis and how viruses invade cells.

Other benefits include its brightfield imaging, environmental chamber options and a new transmitted light digital phase-contrast mode.

Jim Corbett, president of diagnostics and life sciences at PerkinElmer, said: "Our customers will have easy access to a wider range of applications than ever before and will be able to generate more biologically relevant data on how cells respond to compounds."

This comes after the firm introduced its new AxION iQT gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometer at the 2013 American Society for Mass Spectrometry Conference earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801616986-ADNFCR
