PerkinElmer adds to line of gas chromatography/mass spectrometers

PerkinElmer has announced an addition to its line of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) products with the launch of the Clarus 560 S GC/MS.

The company explains the hardware is specifically designed for forensic, food, environmental and pharmaceutical laboratories which need a robust and reliable GC/MS system capable of offering high performance and good value.

Based on the Clarus MS platform, the device includes state-of-the-art electronics, a quick-change ion source and ion optics, PerkinElmer states, noting that it also features an efficient turbomolecular pump to achieve a vacuum quickly and reduce downtime.

Richard Begley, president or analytical sciences at the firm, states: "This instrument is an example of our continued commitment to bringing improvements in performance to a wider audience."

He adds PerkinElmer believes the Clarus 560 S represents great value for both routine and research laboratories.

In recent days, the firm announced the launch of an online radiochemical tool kit.
