PerkinElmer reports strong annual growth
PerkinElmer has expressed satisfaction with the "strong finish" to 2012 it achieved during the fourth quarter of last year, which contributed to a double-digit growth rate over the 12 months.
The life science company has reported a revenue total of $2.12 billion (1.34 billion pounds) for the year, up by ten percent compared to 2011, with a strong final-quarter total of $572.9 million proving helpful.
Its human health and environmental health divisions both benefited from this forward momentum, with further growth and productivity investments set to help the firm continue this success into 2013.
PerkinElmer forecasts that its organic revenue levels will increase in the mid-single digit range next year.
Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, said: "This performance caps another solid year of revenue growth and adjusted operating margin expansion which we believe is a result of our differentiated detection, imaging and informatics portfolios each focused on attractive end markets."
Last month, the company declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.07 per share of common stock, payable on May 10th 2013.
