PerkinElmer reports year-on-year growth for Q2 2013

PerkinElmer has published its financial results for the second quarter of 2013, during which it generated a revenue total of $543.3 million (351 million pounds).

This was up by four percent year on year, with its human health and environmental health divisions both experiencing annual gains, thanks to sequential improvements in areas that were under pressure in the first quarter and continued strength in the rest of its portfolio.

For the 2013 full-year period, the company now expects to achieve an organic revenue increase in the low-single digit range relative to 2012.

Robert Friel, chairman and chief executive officer of PerkinElmer, said: "Our second-quarter performance gives us confidence in our ability to deliver organic growth and improved profitability in the back half of the year."

This comes after the company expanded its international commercial capabilities earlier this month with the establishment of direct operations in Israel, headquartered near Tel Aviv.
