PerkinElmer rolls out Spotlight 400 FT-IR/NIR updates

25th September 2013

PerkinElmer has announced a series of new enhancements to its Spotlight 400 FT-IR/NIR Imaging Systems, making the devices usable in a wider range of applications.

Extended detector options have been made available for the systems to enable more efficient sample analysis and greater sensitivity in high-performance NIR imaging tasks for food, pharmaceuticals and animal feed labs.

Other new upgrades include longer wavelength MIR FT-IR imaging for inorganics, polymer and semiconductor applications and the introduction of the new Spectrum Touch Developer software module, which facilitates the creation of IR workflows for QA/QC, routine analytical labs and field measurement.

Using Spectrum Touch, non-specialised staff can use touchscreen, tablet and PC platforms to develop workflows with ease, with the option of tracking and visualising results and relationships with PerkinElmer's Spotfire software.

Thanks to these enhancements, the Spotlight 400 system no longer requires liquid nitrogen as a coolant and can be run overnight, enabling more representative unattended screening of multiple samples.

This comes after the firm introduced new live cell enhancements for its Operetta high-content imaging system earlier this month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801641952-ADNFCR
