Pfizer welcomes new chief communications officer
Pfizer has welcomed a new senior vice-president of worldwide communications and chief communications officer with the appointment of Sally Susman who will have overall responsibility for the company’s global communications.
Ms Susman has come from a communications background with a wide experience of corporate communications, media relations and public affairs at an international level.
She moves to Pfizer from The Estee Lauder Companies where since 2000 she has directed the communications strategy for the company and its brand portfolio.
Before Estee Lauder, Ms Susman held communications and government relations positions at American Express where she directed media relations, internal communications and public affairs for all of the company’s international operations.
Pfizer chairman and chief executive officer Jeff Kindler expressed his delight in seeing Ms Susman join the executive leadership team.
“Sally’s broad range of experience in both the public and private sectors, as well as her knowledge of global business and markets, makes her an ideal leader for our communications.”
Ms Susman stated that she was pleased to join a “world-class company” and confirmed that she looked forward to working with the leadership team.
Earlier this month, a survey sponsored by Pfizer has revealed the importance of seeking the assistance of a doctor when attempting to quit smoking.
