Phadia launches new personalised medicine services package
Phadia has announced the launch of a new range of services that will enable pharmaceutical companies to benefit from advances in personalised medicine.
The new Immune Response Diagnostics technology offering is comprised of the three parts of the science company's ImmunoCAP platform, including automated high-throughput lab systems, ImmunoCAP ISAC multiplexing products and ImmunoCAP Rapid point-of-care services.
In tandem, this range of companion diagnostic services will allow drug developers to identify relevant biomarkers in order to isolate which patients are most likely to benefit from specific treatments.
This will allow for the production of safer and more effective drugs, accelerating the diagnostic process and reducing the overall cost of care.
Hans Johansson, vice-president of Phadia and head of the company's development business, said: "We have done significant development work with our partners in the pharmaceutical industry and the early results are good."
Last month, Phadia welcomed new guidelines from the UK's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence which recommended the use of allergy tests in NHS primary care and community settings in order to detect food sensitivities among children.
