Philips to make charity donation from Sonicare sales
Philips is to donate part of its profits from sales of the Sonicare for Kids toothbrush brand to charity in conjunction with a national oral care campaign.
The company will give one pound for every toothbrush in the range sold to the British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF) as part of National Smile Month, which commenced on May 16th 2010, reports Dentistry.co.uk.
It has already presented the BDHF’s Dr Nigel Carter with a cheque for 217 pounds at the British Dental Association Conference in Liverpool last month, with the money being generated from Sonicare for Kids sales.
A second cheque will be donated to the organisation following the conclusion of National Smile Month on June 16th.
The Sonicare for Kids range was launched by Philips with the intention of providing a toothbrush which parents can use to teach children aged between four and ten to brush, allowing them to transition gradually to independent brushing.
Other products in Philips’ Sonicare power toothbrush range include Essence, Xtreme and FlexCare Plus.
