Popcorn PR to support major new Allergy UK campaign
Popcorn PR has been hired by the UK health and wellbeing charity Allergy UK to provide a targeted launch campaign starting during Allergy Awareness Week, which takes place in April 2013.
The agency will be tasked with implementing a multiplatform media relations campaign targeting print and broadcast media, bringing in social media communications and celebrity support.
According to Allergy UK's PR head Julie Doyle, Popcorn PR earned the brief by demonstrating their expertise and enthusiasm, while laying out a clear plan on how the charity can achieve its goals in what is set to be its biggest ever fundraising appeal.
Spanning three years, the appeal is being launched with the aim of improving allergy services and providing a better care pathway for all allergy sufferers, while also raising awareness of the condition.
Sara Howard, senior account director at Popcorn, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be working for such a fantastic cause and one particularly close to our hearts, as two of the Popcorn team suffer with severe allergies."
This comes in the same week that the agency also won a brief to represent the Dutch fashion agency Jolo in the UK.
