Procter and Gamble to restructure business
Procter and Gamble has announced it will be amending the structure of the organisation in order to help it operate more effectively and achieve its growth targets.
The firm's global business units will be organised into four industry-based sectors, with each division sharing common consumer benefits, technologies and competitors.
Martin Riant has been elected president of the new global baby, feminine and family care unit, while Deborah Henretta has been chosen as president of global beauty and David Taylor becomes president of global health and grooming.
Giovanni Ciserani will also take up the post of president of global fabric and home care as part of this round of new appointments, which come into effect on July 1st 2013.
AG Lafley, Procter and Gamble's chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO), said: "These changes build on the productivity and organisation design work led by Bob McDonald and will help us get closer to consumers and become more agile with customers."
Mr Lafley was reappointed as CEO of the company last month following the retirement of Mr McDonald, having originally led Procter and Gamble between 2000 and 2009.
