Procter and Gamble welcomes new director
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has welcomed a new member to its board of directors with the appointment of Patricia A Woertz.
Ms Woertz is chairman and chief executive officer of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Corporation and now immediately takes up her role on P&G’s board of directors.
Previous to her position as chairman at ADM, she worked at Chevron Corporation in a number of executive positions.
However, after completing a degree from Pennsylvania State University and graduating from Columbia University’s International Executive Development Programme, she started her career as a certified public accountant at Ernst & Young.
A G Lafley, P&G’s chairman and chief executive officer, expressed his delight in the appointment of Ms Woertz, describing her as an outstanding business leader with an “exceptional” mix of analytical, business and leadership experience.
“Her track record in building strategic and shareholder value will make her an outstanding board member,” he added.
Late last year, P&G announced that its global human resources officer Richard L Antoine will retire after nearly 40 years with the company.
He is set to leave in March of this year and will be replaced with Moheet Nagrath who is currently vice-president corporate human resources.
