ResMed announces record half-year financial results
ResMed has experienced a record-breaking financial performance in the final six months of 2011.
The medical technology firm's revenue total for the half-year period ending on December 31st 2011 came to $647.5 million (408.9 million pounds), up by ten percent year on year to its highest level ever.
During the period, the company experienced a strong performance in terms of profit and cash flow, with sales of masks and flow generators such as the S9 VPAP Adapt highlighted as being particularly encouraging.
Dr Peter Farrell, chairman and chief executive officer of ResMed, said the company is continuing to focus efforts on its five strategic imperatives, while working with the anaesthesiologists to develop solutions for surgery patients with sleep-disordered breathing.
"We continue to provide research funding in these strategic areas while at the same time providing educational support to physicians working within these various specialties," he said.
This continues the record-breaking pace achieved by ResMed during the 2010-11 business year.
