Rowlands and Parkinson’s UK to raise disease awareness

3rd April 2013

Rowlands will be looking to improve support for people affected by Parkinson's disease through a new partnership with the charity group Parkinson's UK.

The healthcare chain is seeking to enhance the quality of services it provides to this patient group across its network of 510 pharmacies, an initiative that coincides with Parkinson's Awareness Week from April 15th to 21st 2013, reports Chemist and Druggist.

Last month, ten members of Rowlands' services team were present at a training day to learn more about the condition and the methods of treating it, while educational materials have also been distributed across all branches.

Rowlands' commercial services project developer Maureen Mallison said: "This campaign provides us with a fantastic way to support the professional development of our pharmacy teams and provides them with a greater awareness and understanding of Parkinson's."

The company operates a chain of 505 community pharmacies throughout England, Scotland and Wales, making it one of the nation's leading pharmacy brands.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801566210-ADNFCR
