Sanofi and Genzyme to showcase MS portfolio at AAN meeting
Sanofi and Genzyme have announced that they will be presenting new findings on their latest multiple sclerosis (MS) therapies at the forthcoming American Academy of Neurology (AAN) annual meeting.
The companies will attend the event in California to provide updates on the clinical development programmes of the drugs Aubagio and Lemtrada, including data from the phase III trials Tower and Care-MS.
These results will demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the drugs among patients affected by various types of MS, while also shedding light on how the medicines can affect other prescribed therapies and conditions.
Dr David Meeker, Genzyme's chief executive officer and president, said: "Our robust clinical development programs underscore our steadfast commitment to advancing our understanding of multiple sclerosis and its treatment, and to providing new hope for people living with this devastating disease."
Last month, Sanofi and Genzyme announced positive clinical trial data from a pair of new phase III clinical trials of eliglustat tartrate, their investigational therapy for Gaucher disease type 1.
