Sanofi to ally with Schneider Electric on energy efficiency
Sanofi has announced a new collaboration with Schneider Electric that aims to enhance the energy efficiency of its global network of manufacturing sites.
The alliance will last for three years and involve the establishment of an Energy Observatory to help Sanofi forecast energy price changes across 16 countries, while Schneider will provide software solutions to aid energy performance monitoring.
Meanwhile, on-site diagnostics will be utilised to facilitate the design of energy efficiency improvement plans and energy consultancy services will be offered to Sanofi's engineering teams in the design phase of any new industrial site.
This comes as part of wider efforts by Sanofi to reduce its direct and indirect emissions of CO2 to 20 percent below 2010 values by 2020.
Philippe Luscan, Sanofi's senior vice-president for industrial affairs, said: "It's an important step for Sanofi to collaborate on a global scale with Schneider Electric, a leader in energy management."
This comes after Sanofi announced a new immunotherapy collaboration with Transgene last week.
