Sigma-Aldrich exceeds quarterly record in Q2 2013
Sigma-Aldrich has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2013, a period which saw the company's business performance climb to a new record high.
The firm's reported sales total for the period came to a benchmark total of $681 million (446.52 million pounds), up by three percent year on year, while earnings per share also increased to a record total of $1.05.
Solid organic sales growth was observed across all business units and regions, with six of its eight segments improving sequentially compared to the first quarter of 2013.
Its overall organic sales growth outlook for 2013 is unchanged and is expected to be in the low-to-mid single-digit range.
The company's president and chief executive officer Rakesh Sachdev said: "We continue to generate strong free cash flow and we remain on track to achieve our 2013 full-year organic sales growth."
This comes after Sigma-Aldrich announced a new partnership with the Scripps Research Institute to accelerate the commercialisation of research reagents earlier this month.
