Simplyhealth wins best health insurer award

Simplyhealth has been voted as the best health insurance provider at the 2011 Consumer Moneyfacts Awards.

The insurer, which offers a wide array of health and dental plans, won the prize following a vote conducted among consumers, with the ceremony designed to recognise brands with the widest general appeal.

Simplyhealth has won a number of accolades in recent months, having also claimed the titles of best health-related insurer at the Personal Finance Awards and best health cash plan provider at the Investment Life and Pensions Moneyfacts Awards.

Jo Kennedy, head of customer service operations at Simplyhealth, said the win represents a "great achievement" given the competitive nature of the sector.

She added: "The fact that so many customers took the time to vote for us shows that they've had a positive experience with Simplyhealth."

Last month, the firm launched the Simply Cash Plan 70 Plus, a new offering designed to promote independent living among the over-70s.
