Sirona announces chairman and CEO succession plans

20th November 2012

Sirona Dental Systems has announced a series of succession plans following the news that Jost Fischer will retire from the role of chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) in February 2013.

Jeffrey Slovin will be promoted to the CEO role when his predecessor departs the company next year, moving into the top job based on his experience as CEO of Schick Technologies prior to joining Sirona in 2006.

Meanwhile, current board member Thomas Jetter will take on the role of non-executive chairman next year and Rainer Berthan assumes the position of executive vice-president with immediate effect.

During Mr Fischer's 11 years in the CEO role, Sirona has grown substantially from a primarily German operation to a global dental technology sector leader.

Mr Fischer said: "Sirona is well-positioned for the future, with a powerful sales and service infrastructure, a strong management team and an outstanding product portfolio. I am excited to watch as Jeff takes Sirona to new heights."

Sirona is currently the world's largest manufacturer of dental technology and employs more than 3,000 people across almost 30 global locations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801491776-ADNFCR
