Sirona appoints new chief executive officer
Sirona Dental Systems has announced that Jeffrey Slovin has become its new chief executive officer (CEO), in accordance with the succession plan outlined in November 2012.
In line with this plan, director Thomas Jetter has taken up the role of non-executive chairman, with former chairman and CEO Jost Fischer retiring from the business after 11 successful years.
Prior to joining Sirona in 2006, Mr Slovin was the CEO of Schick Technologies and earned a strong reputation as an innovator and operator in the dental community, while helping the company to grow as a business.
He has served as president and director of Sirona since 2010, helping to improve its operational effectiveness and bolstered its research and development efforts during his time with the firm.
Mr Slovin said: "I am confident that with the ongoing commitment and dedication of our outstanding management team, we will continue to drive innovation to progress dentistry even further."
The new CEO also paid tribute to the outgoing Mr Fischer, a respected leader who earned the Dr Edward B Shils Entrepreneurial Fund's special recognition award in 2012.
