Sirona Dental Systems launches CEREC camera in Europe

12th October 2012

Sirona Dental Systems has persented its CEREC camera in Europe following a successful launch in the US.

The CEREC Omnicam is being promoted as a camera that is intuitive and easy-to-use, which can generate full-colour scans of intraoral surfaces without requiring a powder coating.

Having been first displayed in Las Vegas in August, the product – which boasts ergonomically designed imaging functionality and camera dimensions – is now available for dental professionals in Europe.

A presentation of the product was given at Sirona's new headquarters in Salzburg, allowing attendees to see first-hand how dentists can use the equipment to quickly generate detailed whole-arch scans.

Benefits of the CEREC Omnicam include its high resistance to camera shake – which means a powder coating does not need to be given to the teeth – and its patient counselling mode.

This means dentists can make short video recordings that can be presented to patients on the CEREC AC monitor – an option that ensures better communication and allows those sat in the dentist chair to make informed decisions based on reliable data.
