SonoSite launches needle guidance technology for ultrasound systems

SonoSite has enhanced its ultrasound systems offering with the introduction of new needle guidance technology on selected models.

The AxoTrack Needle Guidance Technology is available for use with the SonoSite M-Turbo Ultrasound Systems and utilises advanced magnetics to provide users with real-time visualisations of the needle's location as it travels through tissue.

It can help to save time and improve procedure outcomes – particularly in vascular access operations – while improving safety for patients with pre-existing health conditions such as low blood pressure, who are typically at a greater risk of suffering complications.

AxoTrack has already been named by Popular Science Magazine as one of 2012's best new innovations.
