Stryker reports solid growth in second quarter of 2013
Stryker has announced its fiscal results for the second quarter of 2013, a period marked by strong growth for the company.
The medical technology firm generated a net sales total of $2.2 billion (1.44 billion pounds), which was up by five percent year on year, with increased revenues seen across all three of its main business divisions.
Although its earnings per share figure was impacted by foreign exchange headwinds – which are expected to continue throughout the year – Stryker's management expressed satisfaction with its business performance.
Constant currency sales growth in the range of five to 6.5 percent is now anticipated for the full year, up from the three to 5.5 percent range quoted in the company's first-quarter financial report.
Kevin Lobo, president and chief executive officer at Stryker, said: "We delivered another solid quarter of operational results with balanced sales growth across all segments and geographies, as well as strong cash flow performance."
