Teva UK provides medicine donations to Pakistan

27th September 2010

Teva UK has donated almost 350,000 doses of essential medicines to aid relief efforts in Pakistan, following the devastation caused by recent floods.

The drug company provided the medical products, primarily consisting of life-saving antibiotics, for its nominated charity organisation International Health Partners (IHP) to distribute in the affected areas.

It comes as part of a medical donations relationship with IHP stretching back to last year, with Teva UK also allowing the charity to utilise its facilities in Eastbourne to make up doctor packs for poorer nations such as Tanzania.

Teva commercial operations officer Richard Daniell expressed hope that its latest contribution will make a difference for flood victims in the Asian nation.

He added: "We aim to help make quality healthcare accessible around the world and are pleased to be able to work with IHP once again … to do this for the victims of this tragedy."

Earlier this month, Teva UK announced its plan to launch a range of over-the-counter medicines in 2010 and early 2011, including gastrointestinal, allergy, cold and flu relief medication.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800083945-ADNFCR
