Thermo Fisher Scientific announces publication of technical poster

11th September 2007

Thermo Fisher Scientific has revealed a new poster showing how Thermo Scientific Turboflow technology, together with the TSQ Quantum range of mass spectrometers, can reduce matrix effects in liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry analysis.

Entitled Ion Suppression and Matrix Effects, the poster is available alongside a complementary CD called LC-MS/MS Solutions for Drug Discovery and Development.

On the poster is data from a single experiment performed on samples prepared by protein precipitation and solid phase extraction as well as discussing ion suppression in relation to a number of clean-up procedures.

Among the contents of the CD are demonstrations of how high-field asymmetric ion mobility mass spectrometry enhances sensitivity during quantation experiments and how a heated electrospray ionisation probe enhances LC-MS/MS assay sensitivity up to eight times over.

It was recently announced that the Thermo Scientific Orion 229918 sensor assembly is included in a laboratory on NASA’s Phoenix Mars Mission.
