Thermo Fisher Scientific introduces new version of metal analysis system

22nd August 2007

Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched a new entry level version of its ARL SMS-2000 sample manipulation system for automated metal analysis, designed to provide a means for metal producers to fully-mechanise sample analysis.

The company reports that the new ARL SMS-2000 EL will provide a means for smaller metal processing firms to address reliability of data and testing capacity while simultaneously reducing manual labour.

A number of features are offered to expand on the system including flexible and customised sample registration, automatic sample preparation, control charts for recording instrument performance and sample marking.

Problems such as result dispersal due to infrequent analysis and a wide range of different operators are removed with the addition of automatic sample introduction and handling, analysis and distribution of results are also automated, without the need for personnel intervention.

Thermo Fisher Scientific recently announced a partnership with Cellular Engineering Technologies.
