Unimedic launches ‘breakthrough’ arteriosclerosis diagnosis system

Unimedic has announced the UK launch of a “breakthrough” system for the non-invasive diagnosis of arteriosclerosis, the TensioClinic Arteriograph.

The system reportedly enables physicians to make proper individual cardiovascular risk stratification of healthy patients who are asymptomatic.

Unimedic notes that if arteriosclerosis, which can cause heart attacks and strokes, is diagnosed at an early stage, the propagation of the process can be reserved with appropriate treatment with cholesterol lowering drugs, aspirin, or other medication.

The system has been invasively and non-invasively validated as an accurate method for the measurement of augmentation index, blood pressure, pulse wave velocity while offering an estimate of central systolic blood pressure within three-minutes.

Dr Tammas Hodosi, medical director of Unimedic, said: “Numerous EU references are available for reinforcing the significance of this unique mobile device.”

He added that it is an ideal diagnosis tool for evaluating the efficiency of applied cardiovascular therapy in addition to following up patient with hypertension and diabetes.

Unimedic is the maker of the TensioDay Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor that claims to be the most accurate tool for measuring low, medium and high-range systolic and diastolic blood pressure, which received AAA classification in the journal of Blood Pressure Monitoring.
