W Communications launches consumer tech division
W Communications has announced the launch of its new consumer technology division, building on the agency's existing knowledge of and expertise in the tech sector.
The new division will be looking to work with content producers and distributors, in addition to hardware and software manufacturers, offering services that leverage its social media capabilities.
It will be headed by Nick Grange, the former pan-European head of PR for Apple's popular iPad whose resume also includes former employers such as EA, Activision and Microsoft.
He played a key role in establishing the Xbox brand in the UK, helping to launch both the original Xbox and its successor Xbox 360, while also presiding over PR activity for blockbuster videogames such as FIFA, Call of Duty and Guitar Hero.
W's founder Warren Johnson said: "Developing our consumer technology portfolio represents a natural next chapter in the agency's story, especially in light of the increasing role of mobile technology in people's connected lives."
The agency was originally set up in 2009, taking advantage of Mr Johnson's more than 15 years of experience in the PR industry.
