Waters publishes new screening method

7th August 2008

The Waters Corporation has published a rapid screening method for 402 pesticide residues in food.

Using a single ten-minute run, the new application note details rapid analysis on the pesticides using the firm’s Acquity TQG.

James Willis, managing director of the company’s chemical analysis division, said the product provides food safety laboratories with a proven analytical method, not just a software capability claim.

"Working in collaboration with customers, Water’s scientists continue to address the world’s most pressing food safety issues," he added.

The company’s overall revenue in 2007 reached 1.47 billion dollars (745 million pounds) and it employs more than 5,000 staff.

It claims to be driving scientific discovery and operational excellence for customers worldwide.

Earlier in the year, the firm unveiled a new customer showcase celebrating their clients’ achievements through the business’ products.

Art Caputo, executive vice president of the organisation, said: "It is rewarding to know that what we do at Waters makes a difference in helping to solve some of the world’s most important scientific challenges."
