Welch Allyn appoints new SVP for Europe and Middle East

Welch Allyn has announced the appointment of Hisham Hout as its new senior vice-president (SVP) for Europe and the Middle East.

Mr Hout has more than 25 years of industry experience and joins the company from his previous role as vice president for the Middle East, Eastern Europe and India at fellow medical technology firm Hill-Rom.

During his time at the company, he was able to significantly increase its market share in the region, while expanding its geographical reach.

Mr Hout will report to chief global business officer and executive vice president Steve Meyer and will play a key role in driving sales and margin growth in his allocated territories.

"He is familiar with the European and Middle Eastern medical markets and how to successfully increase a company's exports into these areas," said My Meyer.

Earlier this year, the company appointed experienced healthcare sector veterans Greg Norden and Craig Reynolds to positions on its board of directors.
