Welch Allyn launches FlexiPort EcoCuff for blood pressure monitoring

3rd April 2013

Welch Allyn has announced the launch of FlexiPort EcoCuff, a single-patient-use blood pressure cuff that offers a number of practical advantages.

The device is designed to remain with a single patient for the duration of their stay and then be disposed of afterwards, thus reducing the risk of cross-contamination, a key safety consideration for medical facilities.

It is also a cost-effective solution that has a smaller environmental impact than other similar disposable blood pressure cuffs, while offering other advantages, such as the employment of the FlexiPort single-point connection standardisation system.

The EcoCuff is being made available in four sizes and features a slot-fitting system that makes sure each patient receives an appropriately sized cuff.

Sean Karla, global category manager at Welch Allyn, said: "EcoCuff is the first disposable cuff on the market that brings together cross-contamination control, cost containment and environmental impact."

Last month, the company showcased a number of new products at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society trade show in New Orleans, including the EarlySense Vitals Surveillance System.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801566052-ADNFCR
