Wyeth Pharmaceuticals division to create jobs

15th January 2008

The Irish division of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals is to create four additional departments and 24 jobs, it emerged this week.

Wyeth Ireland became independent from Wyeth UK last June and an investment of five million euros will enable the new departments to be based at the firm’s Dublin headquarters.

These will encompass areas including medical, regulatory, corporate affairs and operations and quality.

Wyeth Ireland’s general manager Emmet Browne made the announcement and explained how the company was ongoing in its progress.

“We are continuing to invest significantly across our pharmaceutical, biotechnology and R&D activities,” he told Finfacts Ireland. “Wyeth has been an employer in Ireland for more than 30 years.”

In related news, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals recently announced that a Maryland, US court had rejected a link between autism and vaccines containing thimerosal.
