Zinsser Analytic highlights benefits of new FISH-LISSY system

18th December 2012

Zinsser Analytic has detailed the benefits its collaboratively-developed FISH-LISSY systems can offer in the diagnosis of leukaemia and other health conditions

Fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) technology functions by using samples of blood or bone marrow in a short-term cell culture to receive cells in the metaphase status, which are then investigated via microscope to determine the cell coordinates with metaphase chromosomes.

In association with a major diagnostic laboratory, Zinsser Analytic has developed a system for automating the precise transfer of FISH-probes to predefined coordinates, with the samples subsequently being covered with slides.

Because this process is entirely standardised, sources of potential errors are minimised, while the modular nature of the FISH-LISSY systems mean they can be customised to any laboratory environment.

This will help lab technicians that are using FISH technology to try and determine which for of leukaemia is affecting patients.

Zinsser Analytic was originally founded in 1970 and operates offices in the UK, Germany, France and the US, as well as a global network of distributors.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801508934-ADNFCR
