Thermo Fisher Scientific highlights strong growth in 2014

5th February 2015

Thermo Fisher Scientific has published its financial results for the fourth and final quarter of 2014, during which it achieved strong growth and attained several key operational milestones.

The company's revenue total for the fourth quarter came to $4.49 billion (2.94 billion pounds), up by 30 percent year on year, with its full-year figure of $16.89 billion being 29 percent higher than its total for 2013.

During the year, the company successfully integrated Life Technologies, having completed the takeover of the firm last February. It oversaw significant product launches across its specialty diagnostics, analytical instruments and life sciences businesses, and expanded its network of centres of excellence.

The firm expects to begin achieving revenue synergies stemming from the Life Technologies takeover in 2015.

Marc Casper, president and chief executive officer of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "Our strong finish in the fourth quarter capped off a great year overall, and positions us to achieve our growth goals in the year ahead."

The firm attended the Arab Health industry conference last week, giving it an opportunity to demonstrate the latest products it has developed via its annual $700 million research and development expenditure.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801774092-ADNFCR
