Ipsen hails solid growth performance in 2014

11th February 2015

Ipsen has announced its financial results for the 2014 business year, during which it generated an annual sales total of 1.27 billion euros (939.25 million pounds).

This represented a year-on-year increase of 5.7 percent, which was towards the top end of its previously-stated guidance range. The improvement was primarily driven by its specialty care business, which saw a 9.9 percent sales increase.

Its drug Somatuline achieved strong market penetration in the US and Europe, while Dysport performed well in the aesthetic medicine sector and demand for Decapeptyl rose in China and the Middle East.

Other key highlights included the negotiation of an exclusive partnership with Galderma for the development and marketing of neurotoxins, and the acquisition of the European rights to the drug telotristat etiprate.

Marc de Garidel, chairman and chief executive officer of Ipsen, said: "2015 looks just as rich with the global launch of Somatuline in GEP-NET, the potential US launch of Dysport in spasticity and the tasquinimod phase III results in prostate cancer."

The company is planning to present a more comprehensive report on its 2014 fiscal performance early next month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801774807-ADNFCR
