CardioPrecision has showcased a groundbreaking robotic procedure aimed at implanting an aortic valve replacement through a small incision, marking a significant advancement in cardiac surgery.
CardioPrecision has demonstrated its Advanced Videoscopic Aortic valve Surgery by Transcervical Approach using Robot-assistance procedure at the University of Chicago Medicine.
AVATAR leverages CardioPrecision’s CoreVista Robot Enabling system, which enhances the efficiency of cardiovascular surgeries.
Fraser Sutherland, CardioPrecision’s head medical officer and consultant cardiothoracic specialist, collaborated with Rocco Bilancia at Scotland’s Golden Jubilee University National Hospital, to present the AVATAR platform to the US market.
The CEO at CardioPrecision, Ying Sutherland, commented, “The main benefit of performing surgery via the transcervical approach – making a small incision in the neck – is that this is a very well-circulated area that heals quickly with little or no pain.”
Sutherland added, “Our CoreVista Robot Enabling Platform therefore opens up the groundbreaking possibility of day case aortic valve surgery, a massive step forward in the field.”
