Installation Technician
Role Overview
As a Medical Gas Installation Technician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality medical gas and laboratory gas installations across both new-build healthcare facilities and existing hospital sites across the South UK.
Working alongside project managers, contractors and authorised personnel, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing and commissioning medical gas systems in line with industry regulations, ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical gas installation experience or a skilled pipework professional looking to specialise within a highly regulated and rewarding sector.

For decades, our client has been delivering critical infrastructure to hospitals, laboratories and healthcare facilities across the UK. Their expertise ensures that life-saving medical gas systems are installed to the highest standards of safety, compliance and reliability.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to recruit an experienced Medical Gas Installation Technician to join their highly skilled installation team.
Role Requirements
· Install medical gas pipeline systems within NHS hospitals, healthcare facilities and new-build developments.
· Install laboratory gas pipework and associated equipment where required.
· Read and interpret both 2D and coordinated 3D technical drawings.
· Install medical gas source equipment, manifolds, alarms and associated infrastructure.
· Ensure all installations comply with HTM 02-01 and all relevant industry standards and regulations.
· Work closely with internal project managers, clients, site managers and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
· Carry out pre-testing, pressure testing and commissioning activities alongside the Authorised Person (AP).
· Commission medical gas systems and source equipment to ensure full operational performance.
· Complete installation records, batch documentation, commissioning certificates and test documentation using both digital and paper-based systems.
· Maintain the highest standards of workmanship, safety and customer service on every project.
Person Specifications
· Experience installing pipework systems.
· Brazing experience.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on-site.
· Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
· Medical Gas Installation experience.
· Laboratory gas installation experience.
· Knowledge of HTM 02-01.
· Experience within HVAC, refrigeration or compressed air systems.
· M&E construction background such as plumbing or pipefitting.
Package
· Basic salary: Up to £43,000 (depending on experience)
· Company van fully equipped with racking, roof rack and ladders
