3 Monkeys wins social media brief with Microsoft

3 Monkeys has won the first retained social media brief for technology giant Microsoft's advertising division.

After winning a three-way pitch, the agency will work with Microsoft's own in-house marketing team to help take its UK social media activity to the next level and engage audiences in new ways.

This brief builds on 3 Monkeys' proven trade marketing, consumer PR and social media expertise, with the agency team to be led by associate director Sarah Ogden.

It comes after Microsoft recently chose to reduce its advertising division's headcount amid rising costs associated with a widespread shift to cloud software, reports PRWeek.

Ms Ogden said: "There's a lot of opportunity for them to provide useful thought leadership in terms of the opportunity that multiplatform digital campaigns offer when it comes to engaging new and existing audiences."

Over the last two years, 3 Monkeys has led Microsoft's trade PR activities, claiming a number of industry awards and overseeing consumer activity associated with the launch of products such as Bing and Windows 7.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801428694-ADNFCR
