3M’s Health Informations subsidiary has signed an agreement with GHN-Online (GHN).
The deal will see the two companies collaborating to offer coding compliance editing and medical necessity validation for revenue cycle management.
As a result, it is planned customers will be able to gain access to the 3M Edit Engine – a software platform that allows users to access current and previous Medicaid and Medicare data sets.
Furthermore, 3M’s content combined with GHN’s Visum is set to help healthcare providers reduce claim denials, shorten A/R cycles and enhance workflow efficiency.
Vice-president of 3M Health Information Systems Ann Chenoweth said the company was pleased with the partnership.
She continued: “The integration of the 3M Edit Engine with GHN’s Visum will ? improve compliance and realise cost savings by reducing time-consuming claims rework and resubmission.”
Azadeh Farahmand, president and chief executive officer of GHN, added: “3M enhances our evolving revenue-cycle management ecosystem.”
Last month, 3M announced it was to acquire the Futuro health supports and compression hosiery product line from Beiersdorf.
Terms of the definitive agreement are yet to be disclosed.
The company’s brands include Scotch, Nexcare, Command, Post-it and Scotchguard and has operations in more than 60 countries – with products sold in nearly 200.
