3M Bluetooth stethoscope released on to market

3M, a manufacturer of healthcare products, has revealed that a new electronic stethoscope equipped with Bluetooth technology is now available for purchase.

The firm collaborated with Zargis Medical to devise two accompanying software packages for the 3M Littmann Electronic Stethoscope Model 3200, it revealed.

It enables doctors and other healthcare professionals to transfer body sounds to software where they can be analysed further – including echoes from the heart and lungs.

"The introduction of the Littmann will help enhance clinicians’ natural abilities and enable health care providers to confirm diagnoses and more easily gather a second opinion from colleagues," commented Warren Wasescha, new products marketing manager for 3M Health Care.

Last month, 3M was commended by the Driving for Better Business scheme, which is managed by RoadSafe for the Department for Transport, as it introduced a total ban on employees using mobile phones while driving.
