3M Health Care wins pair of Edison Awards

1st May 2012

3M Health Care has been presented with a pair of Edison Awards honouring the innovative design of two health-related products.

The company's Aerobic Procedure for Lactic Acid Bacteria with 3M Petrifilm Aerobic Count Plate won a silver prize for analytic systems in the science/medical category, thanks to its efficiency and ease of use.

Meanwhile, another silver award was also received by the 3M Kind Removal Silicone Tape in the lifestyle and social impact category, honouring its safety and patient comfort benefits.

The Edison Awards have been presented annually since 1987 to recognise the world's most innovative products, with nominees judged by more than 3,000 leading business executives.

Paul Keel, president of 3M's skin and wound care division, which developed the award-winning medical tape, said: "It's a special honour to receive an award recognising its benefits to lifestyle and social impact."

Last week, the company published its financial report for the first quarter of 2012, highlighting a record-breaking sales total of $7.5 billion (4.62 billion pounds).ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801354510-ADNFCR
