3M introduces new dictation software for iPhone
3M Health Information Systems has introduced a new mobile dictation software offering for smartphones which is designed to give more freedom and flexibility to physicians.
The new 3M Mobile Dictation application is available on the Apple iPhone and allows doctors to conveniently record notes and view patient lists and information, thereby assisting them in focusing on patient care.
It has also previously been made available for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile and is optimised to fulfil hospital security standards on encryption and authentication.
Ray Terrill, senior vice president of 3M Health Information Systems, stated that this technology will allow its users to improve their workflow processes.
He added: “We’re demonstrating our commitment to helping clients improve provider satisfaction and reduce transcription costs and turnaround times.”
3M has previously been recognised as the market leader on medical records coding and dictation and transcription solutions in a December 2009 survey by research firm KLAS.
