3M unveils new hearing protection products
3M has added to its range of hearing and eye protection products following the acquisition of manufacturer Aearo.
The company explained that the 2007 transaction means it can now offer protection equipment featuring the Peltor brand to bodyshops.
Its 3M 2890 Premium Goggles are available with a polycarbonate or acetate lens to guard the wearer against particles, liquids, gases and dust.
Meanwhile, 3M's new Peltor Optime range of earmuffs incorporates a steel headband with foam and liquid-filled cushions for enhanced comfort.
Carla O'Brien, spokesperson for the company's automotive aftermarket division, said the new products "demonstrate our commitment to continuous innovation and improvement".
She added: "We are confident the new range continues to meet the key demands of functionality, safety and comfort expected by bodyshops."
3M announced the acquisition of Aearo for $1.2 billion (770.6 million pounds) in November 2007.
