A 3D model of lungs has been released by Thyng to help enhance the understanding of COVID

A 3D model of lungs, which have been severely damaged by COVID, has been released by Thyng to help enhance the understanding of COVID for patient awareness, education, research and training, and physician communications purposes.

The 3D model was created from a CT scan from an actual patient with severe COVID illness on day nine of their COVID infection. Following the CT scan, the patient was on a ventilator for twelve days and survived the disease. The 3D model enables everyone to see the devastating and significant impact COVID-19 can have on the lungs, including on the periphery of the lungs, lower lobes of the lungs, and around the bronchi within the lungs.

The 3D model is available on Thyng’s new MedReality Marketplace and can be interacted and automatically viewed with on Augmented Reality on an iPad or iPhone using the MedReality iOS app or any web browser using Thyng’s MedReality 3D Web Viewer, which enables real-world anatomical models to be experienced in 3D on a web browser.
