Abbott device to treat CAD available in Europe

Abbott’s latest product in its portfolio of minimally invasive medical devices to treat coronary artery disease (CAD) is now available in Europe.

With high-pressure capability designed to optimise the treatment of sufferers of the illness during angioplasty procedures, the Voyager NC Coronary Dilatation Catheter is a next-generation device.

It can be used for pre and post-dilation practices, features the company’s propriety technology, while also being available in a variety of diameters and lengths.

Charles Simonton, divisional vice-president and chief medical officer at the firm’s vascular department, explained that precise delivery of interventional medical products is critical for successful outcomes in patients.

He commented: “The launch of Voyager NC underscores Abbott’s ongoing commitment to bring innovative technologies to market from our broad vascular pipeline.”

In other news, the pharmaceutical company is due to present at the Cowen and Company 29th Annual Health Care Conference on March 17th. A live audio webcast of the event will be available on its investor relations website.
