Abbott launches drink to help refuel after exercise

Abbott has launched a drink it says will meet the needs of fitness enthusiasts.

The EAS Myoplex Strength Formula has been developed by scientists to help people refuel after physical activity.

As well as promising to be delicious and creamy, the nutrition shake contains 25 grams of protein designed to replenish the body after a workout.

Suitable for those who go to the gym, participate in team sports or take part in other activities, the drink comes in a re-closable 14-fluid ounce plastic bottle.

Monica Hysell is Abbott Nutrition’s Healthy Living general manager and division vice-president and noted it can be difficult to get the required nourishment after a workout.

She said this is why the company has developed the shake.

“It’s just one more way Abbott is making it convenient to get proper nutrition after exercising,” Ms Hysell remarked.

Earlier this month, the company launched three new flavours of its ZonePerfect Dark Chocolate Nutrition Bars.

The snacks contain 12 grams of protein per serving, antioxidants and 19 essential vitamins and minerals. Each bar contains 180 to 190 calories.
