Abbott to report data on vascular device range
Abbott is to attend an upcoming Cardiovascular Research Foundation symposium in order to present clinical data on a number of its vascular device products.
The healthcare firm will be present at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics scientific symposium in Washington in order to highlight the strong performance of its devices in recent studies.
Among the products set to be showcased is the company's new developmental bioresorbable vascular scaffold, which was trialled in the Absorb study, as well as its recently-released catheter-based MitraClip system.
Meanwhile, data from three separate studies will be used to illustrate the efficacy of Xience V, Abbott's market-leading everolimus-eluting coronary stent system.
Robert Hance, senior vice-president of Abbott's vascular division, said the data will reinforce Xience V's position as the "gold standard of drug-eluting stents around the world".
This comes after the company demonstrated a range of diagnostic devices, such as the Architect HIV antigen/antibody combo assay, at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry Lab Expo in July 2010.
